I would prefer Debian xfce.and as already said that worked well with Wheezy but not Jessie. This is the lts version and has a good life expectency, so I can take a breather with cloneilla problems for now. I have opted for Xubuntu because I like xfce.the version I have installed is xubuntu-14.04.2-desktop-amd64.
