The band gets out of the music just as much as the fans do. It’s a special kind of bond that’s a give and take relationship. The connection between the band members and their fans is unbreakable. Pierce the Veil isn’t just another album-spitting band, they actually care about the work they put out in the world in the hopes of making a better difference for their fans. “We went into this record wanting to top the last one, which we try to do with every record, and we kept setting the bar higher and higher,” Vic said in an interview with Rolling Stone. They love what they do and try to show their dedication through each record. Pierce the Veil is a powerhouse in their work ethic and the way they attempt to keep things fresh and interesting. I think that’s what is going to set it apart.” While Misadventures may be different, the band makes sure to stick to their roots by including Spanish elements into their songs. “No one is going to know the little things that we did, but overall, it’ll be a feeling you get when you listen to the album, it just sounds different than the other albums. That part is the most fun for me: things no one would really care about, but we have a great time doing,” says Vic in an interview with Alternative Press. “I did a lot of work to get a lot of unique tones. It’s not just another “Collide with the Sky,” it stands on its own. They created an awesome record that stays true to who they are while adding in unique elements and sounds that sets it apart from its predecessors. In a time where bands are changing up their sounds, Pierce the Veil stays steady and reliable. The record is very ‘PTV-sounding’ so that any fan can take a sigh of relief. The lyrics connects and resonate with so many of the fans, leaving them feeling like they are not alone. Vic’s vocals are classically showcased – the occasional screaming to emphasize the important parts, but still keeping its smooth singing with the rhythm. It displays the band’s passion and intensity in every song. Misadventures as a record shows the tremendous work put into it. Between rentals, the cabin, and the studio, it was too much isolation.” They decided to hold off the record and go on tour to refresh their creative juices. “We probably should have made the call way earlier,” Vic recalls in an interview with Alternative Press. Halfway through the writing process, Vic was at a standstill. He worked mostly alone, but would often get lonely and ask his friends to visit him or he would come home to his family. Vic spent about a year writing lyrics and creating the sound of the record. Each song represents a certain story or time in Vic’s life.

The next single was “Circles” which was inspired by the Paris attacks in 2015, which was a speak peak as to what the rest of the record was going to say. This re-sparked their fan’s excitement for what they had in store for them.

Last summer, the band released “The Divine Zero” as its own single and teaser for the upcoming record. The creation of this record was all over the place and quite the ‘adventure.’ He would sometimes write the guitar part on a few songs and the lyrics on another. He worked in differing places such as a cabin in California, a hotel in Seattle, and on warped tour. Vic worked on bits and pieces of each song here and there with various people such as Curtis Peoples, Brad (third eye blind), and Steven Miller. Misadventures was named after all of the ‘misadventures’ the band encountered while creating and producing the record. 1 on alternative, rock, and hard rock charts. 4 on the billboard 200 – their first top 10 album – and No. Misadventures is the band’s fourth studio album that was released on May 13th, 2016 through Fearless Records. Their popularity has sky-rocketed in the past few years, earning them sold out shows and many awards.Īfter the unprecedented popularity of “Collide with the Sky”, Pierce the Veil’s faithful and dedicated fans have been waiting about four years for a new album. Their albums include A Fair for the Dramatic (2007), Selfish Machines (2010), Collied with the Sky (2012), and Misadventures (2016). Pierce the Veil is a post-hardcore band from San Diego that was formed in 2006 and founded by Vic Fuentes (vocals and guitar), Mike Fuentes (drums), Jaime Preciado (bass), and Tony Perry (lead guitar). You may not recognize him as anything special, but he’s actually the frontman of one of the most popular bands in alternative music today. With his statement look of skinny jeans and a long t-shirt, he blends right into the crowd.

He may look like a normal, regular guy out doing errands. If you were to encounter Vic Fuentes in public, you may not even look twice.
